[warning: image is huge XD]
I've been promising for a long time that I'd make a new, hopefully improved Photoshop tutorial since like, forever. So, finding myself bored today, I got up and actually made it. XD OK Totally disclaiming THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT WAY TO DO THINGS. This is just the May-way. It's like the wrong way but faster. -BRICKD- XD OK OK not really =] but yeah it's just...how I do things...so like I don't expect this to work for EVERYONE. But I tried to make it really general so it should. All bits of my knowledge were just picked up here and there =] I learned most of my stuff from other people's tutorials, and friends telling me what new things you can do in Photoshop. If you have any questions, either comment or note me, thanks. Random feathers were ganked from the Adobe website. Awesome I know. XD Important Notes: + You need a tablet pen to be able to view the brushes like the way I have them up there. Otherwise, if you have a mouse, you'll just have to click around blindly until you find the right brush. + Mouse users! Play with the opacity and flow of the brush to get the results like a tablet has. =] + Save frequently! After you have done a step, SAVE. The best shortcut EVER invented is CTRL + S + If you would like to shade your picture on a different layer but don't know how to get your colouring to stay in the lines use this method. On your flat base colour layer, DON'T LOCK IT. And make sure that everything is coloured inside of your lineart. ...OKAY. Instead, press CTRL down on your keyboard and then click the flat colour layer. This will select all of the flat colour. Make a new layer on top of that and you can start shading! This is VERY handy if you want to do multiple shading colours on top of eachother, or if you want to do markings ...OR ANYTHING. If you are annoyed by the squiggly lines, hit CTRL + H to hide them. + Do you want to practice colouring, but you're too lazy to do your own lineart? [link] <- is the original that I used for this tutorial [link] <- is just another lineart I scrapped along the way. To colour them in PS, just copy them, paste them into PS, and set the lineart layer to 'Multiply.' [link] Colour as per tutorial. If you do intend to colour it, please don't erase my signature! Other than that, you can do what you will with it. =] plus, I'd love to see how it turned out? XD Thnx for looking, hope this helps you! =] |
